THANK YOU
After 28 years of leading the advocacy efforts of the Dallas County Medical
Society, Tracy Casto officially retires May 10, 2019. Tracy has been the only director
of legislative affairs/advocacy DCMS has ever had. Her work has built DCMS’
strong reputation in legislative advocacy. She helped create the DCMS Capitol
Visitation Program, a precursor to First Tuesdays in the 1990s, inviting Dallas
members to join her to visit legislators at the state Capitol during the legislative
sessions. She also helped create DCMS HealthPAC, worked on numerous public
health initiatives regarding increased infant immunization rates, coordinated
DCMS efforts to achieve a Dallas Smoking ban, and she served as the managing
editor of the Dallas Medical Journal for 2 ½ years. Congratulations on retirement
and thank you for your dedicated service with the Dallas County Medical Society!
