Out of the Office
AMA House of Delegates Interim Meeting
DCMS was well-represented at the
interim meeting of the AMA House
of Delegates at National Harbor,
Maryland, in November. In addition
to the leaders at left, delegates John
Gill and Les Secrest took part in the
proceedings.
Two policy proposals that the Texas
Delegation took to the House fared
well. AMA delegates:
• Approved a TMA resolution
asking AMA to support allowing
psychiatrists to e-prescribe
medications to a patient
with whom the physician has
established a valid telemedicine
relationship.
• Called for further study of a Texas
resolution asking AMA to push
Medicare to improve access to
complex rehabilitation technology
for patients with chronic and
disabling conditions.
