Urology Clinics of North Texas is one of the Southwest’s
largest single-specialty urology groups and continues to grow.
Formed in 1999, UCNT delivers state-of-the-art care with more
than 18 locations, 44 physicians and three midlevel providers
throughout Dallas – Fort Worth.
Throughout the changes in the healthcare industry, UCNT
strives to keep integrity, quality and professionalism at the
forefront of the patient-physician relationship. We affiliate with
hospitals, physicians and partners who share a reputation of
excellence — that’s why we continue to partner with DCMS.
We are committed to this partnership that helps us provide the
highest standard of urologic care for North Texans.
UCNT physicians frequently are tapped for healthcare
leadership roles. Many of our physicians serve or have served
in positions such as president of their medical staff, chief of
urology, medical director, hospital board member, and president
of Texas Urological Society.
UCNT focuses on providing highly positive medical outcomes
while applying proven advanced technology. Our physicians
specialize in prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers;
vasectomy and vasectomy reversal; urinary infections, enlarged
prostate (BPH), urinary incontinence, laparoscopic and robotic
surgeries, female pelvic disorders and reconstructive surgery, as
well as male infertility, erectile dysfunction and hypogonadism.
As the North Texas area continues to grow, we’re committed to
delivering care that is convenient to patients. Our newest stars in
these areas include Drs. Christopher Cefalu in McKinney, Joseph
Scales in Plano, Marie-Blanche Tchetgen in Flower Mound, and
George Bailey at Alliance.
Dr. Cefalu trained directly under leading experts in a variety
of urologic subspecialty fields. His training and interests include
minimally invasive surgery, including the use of the DaVinci
Robot, which he uses for most major oncologic surgery including
prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. He offers new technology
for the treatment of BPH, and has special interest in the surgical
reconstruction of the urethra and the upper urinary tract. He has
published articles in the field of reconstructive urology/prosthetics.
Dr. Scales completed his surgical internship and residency at
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He joined the practice in 2018
and offers minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and
robotic surgical techniques to help speed his patients’ recovery.
“The needs of the patient come first,” he says. “I try to care for
all of my patients as if they’re a member of my family, and take
time to explain their diagnosis and treatment options so they’re
comfortable with the plan of care.”
Dr. Tchetgen specializes in female pelvic medicine and
reconstructive surgery. With her extensive training and 20 years
of surgical experience, she provides care to female and male
patients with complex pelvic disorders, including urinary and
fecal incontinence, fistulas, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary
difficulties, such as overactive bladder and urinary retention.
Dr. Tchetgen has been practicing in the DFW area for 16
years, offering patients state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment
modalities. She is fluent in French and Spanish.
Dr. Bailey completed his surgical internship and residency at
Mayo Clinic. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal
articles on urologic oncology, kidney stones, sexual dysfunction,
and robotic surgery. Dr. Bailey joined the practice in August
2017. He has performed hundreds of complex reconstructive
procedures and minimally invasive surgeries utilizing state-of-theart
robotic technology. He is fluent in American Sign Language
and enjoys volunteering on medical humanitarian trips.
UCNT’s continued partnership with DCMS allows us to
provide patients excellent care and treatment of urological
disorders, and to deliver that care courteously, caringly and
efficiently remains of utmost importance. DMJ
