FIRST TUESDAYS
First Tuesdays
at the Capitol
White coats were ubiquitous at the Capitol on
March 5, as more than 325 physicians advocated
for their patients at TMA’s First Tuesday at the
Capitol. After an issues briefing (right) at the
newly renamed Louis J. Goodman Texas Medical
Association Building, resident physicians and
Alliance members also braved a cold, windy day
to talk with legislators about scope of practice
issues and expansion of services for Medicaid
patients. John Carlo, MD, led a press conference
in support of Tobacco 21 (Senate Bill 21), a
bill that would prohibit the sale of tobacco and
vaping products to people under 21.
Your last chance to join in the First Tuesday
fun is May 7.
